Welcome to season 2012-13, and what a great start!

We had an amazing start to the season with over 100 members joining up, which is about a 20% increase on last year.
It was great to see so many new faces and especially the new families and the younger swimmers.

A few big thank-yous to retiring Committee members, who have made previous years such a success.

We have welcomed a group of new and enthusiastic members to the committee this year to help Maeve and myself transition the Club to the next era. 
It has been a delight to have so many positive volunteers.

Swim Club Communications
The primary source of information about the club and weekly announcments is:

Swim Club Rule and Regulations
All the information about the Club is on the website in the form of a Brochure and Regs. 
If you are a new family, please take a few moments to review this information as it will explain the Club purpose and how the points and Championship Nights operate.

Swim Club Cancellation Policy
Swim club will be cancelled if there is likelihood of a storm (but not necessarily just heavy rain). It is up the the discretion of the Committee to cancel the Club event.
Members will be notified of a cancellation in 3 ways, however the onus is on the member families to check these sources.

Cancellations will be decided BEFORE drive through starts at 2:45pm
  1. An email will be sent to THIS email group. If you need other emails added please contact me.
  2. An Announcement will be posted on the website
  3. An Announcement will be made over the school intercom system before drive through

New Timing System
We have upgraded and improved the means by which the swim times are now recorded.
Each swimmer is allocated a unique Swimmer Number that lives with them for the time that they are the club.
This number will be written on the swimmers hand until they start to remember them themselves.
At the end of the swim they just need to give their number to the timekeeper, exit the pool and return to their parents/guardians again.

Swimmer Times
Each week the times of the swims are posted on the website by Swimmer Number.
It may take a few days to be posted as they are audited for any discrepancies and Club Records. 
An email will be sent to THIS email group when the times are available.
Remember the aim of the Club for the swimmers to beat their own PB time rather than anyone else hence times are by Swimmer number only.

Kate Dart has taken on the BBQ this year after a long and very successful run by Leontine Musso. 
Each week volunteers will be required to run the BBQ etc. 
A specific email will be sent out with the details.

When you accept a spot on the roster it will be posted on the website and you will be sent an invitation for that night.
If you accept the invitation you will be sent a reminder 2 days beforehand.
If you cannot make the date, it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement and inform the BBQ coordinator and myself.
