To All,

The St Ita’s Dolphins swim club will commence its new season on 16 October 2012. This is the second Tuesday of term 4. The season will run through until the end of Term 1 in 2013. Swim club night will be on Tuesdays commencing with a warm up at 5pm and races starting from 5:30 going through till around 7pm.

SIGN ON

We are encouraging people to sign on prior to the first club night, as unregistered swimmers may not earn points for the first night.

To sign on, download the form at the  club website:  http://www.stitasdolphins.net/forms-and-docs  complete and return to the office in a sealed bag with registration feesRegistration fees will be $20 per child for a half season, and $35 per child for the full season.

You will also be able to sign on from 4:30pm to 5pm on the 16 October, prior to the first club night, however pre-registration would be appreciated.

If you are unfamiliar with the Swim Club, and are unsure if it will suit your family, we would love to welcome you along for a free trial. If you decide to join, points will be awarded to your child from this trial.

WHAT HAPPENS ON CLUB NIGHT

Each swimmer has the opportunity to swim one race in each stroke – they can participate as they please. They are awarded points for participation, and points for improving on their own previous times. Points are not awarded for place-getting. The emphasis is on improving, and it is a very friendly and fun environment.

Swimmers from other schools are welcome to join, so you may wish to include friends from other schools.

There is a BBQ held each club night, with sausages, burgers, and sushi available.

Usually the racing is over by 7pm. The races are held in order of age, from youngest to oldest, by stroke. If you have younger children, you are free to leave as soon as they finish their last race. It is very relaxed.

At the end of each season for the last two weeks, there is a club championship. The fastest times in each age group on these nights will be awarded the club championship. For more information about the club, please see the website at http://www.stitasdolphins.net.

The swim club is a fantastic social night for children of all ages, as well as their parents.
